Jeera Rice

Jeera Rice is a simple yet flavorful main dish. It goes well with any veg or non-veg curry.

First time I had this at my friend's dinner. She served me jeera rice and a spicy andra chicken. I dint feel like trying any other veg and roti dishes that day. It was such a great dinner. So just noted the recipe from my friend's MIL and tried at our home too. It was such a simple recipe to make. Its flavor makes it rich.
It is suitable for lunch box and parties too. And a best alternate recipe for sunday's briyani or fried rice.
As it is not spicy, well suitable for kids.

Ingredients:
Basmati rice -1 cup
Jeera - 3 tea spoon
Ghee - 3 tea spoon
cahsew nuts - 2 tea spoon(optional)
coriander leaves - to garnish

Preparation:

1.Wash and soak basmati rice for 30 minutes
2.In a pressure cooker, heat 2 tea spoons of ghee and fry the jeera for few seconds.I
3.Immediatly add the soaked.rice and fry for a minute
4. Add 2 cups of water (or the required water for the rice you use) and cook it for 2- 3 whistles.
5. once the pressure is released, fry cahews in remaining 1 tea spoon ghee and add to the rice.
6 Using a fork mix gently. so the jeera seeds and cashew nuts will be evenly spread.
